dee dot martins

About

dee dot martins is a visual artist with a twitchy tail. A restless cat. A speck of the collective body.

Born in Portugal, dee has found refuge in the english language. A language less bound by gender than their native one, english has become their preferred medium for personal expression and intellectual exploration.

dee has completed Konstfack’s Fine Art master degree in 2023 and the Art and Environment master at TU Dublin in 2025.

dee is a queer neurodivergent artist whose work aims to disrupt binary beliefs of separation and otherness through the lens of interconnectedness. Their work challenges anthropocentric perspectives, placing the human and the non-human within a non-binary and hierarchy-free framework.

From moving image, sound, photography, text, found objects, elements of performace, etc; the choice of medium(s) in dee's work follows the individual needs of each project.
